Changing Your Company Name in Windows XP

When you setup windows on a computer, you can type in the name of your company along with your name.  If you do this, then your company name is automatically filled in when you install software.  The problem comes in when you change the name of your company.  As a small business person, we frequently start out with one company name and then either create an LLC or corporation and then change the name.  Here’s how you fix the name in Windows XP.

The post from microsoft shows you how.  Note that this is a registry changes, so be sure to backup your registry first!  You will basically just edit the Registered Owner key underneath the Windows registry.  Type in a new name and voila!  Finished!
