Act! — Extra Blank Envelope Prints

Act! is a wonderful contact manager and business opportunity manager.  However, if you spend too much time trying to figure out a technical glitch, you loose all that efficiency!  I have just done that and spent too much time trying to figure out why my #10 envelope report always prints one extra envelope at the end.  Here is the solution so you don’t waste your time!

Act Report Edit Template Menu

Act Report Edit Template Menu

The solution is simple.  Open the report by going to the Edit Template menu as shown here.  Then select the Envelope reports at the bottom of the open file window.  If you select the envelope report titled ‘10’ then you have selected the correct report.

After opening the report in the report designer window, select the detail area which has the address.  Look at the properties window to the right and notice the height value.  It is probably something like 4.2 (inches).

This is the culprit!  Change the height to 3.6 inches and your report will not have extra spaces at the end.  Thus, no extra form feed and no extra blank report to tie up your printer with an error!

Be sure to save your changes in the report and continue with your work!
