FireFox 3.0.10 Crashes with Java Update

Fire­Fox and Java appar­ently have code so inter­re­lated that the lat­est Java update has Fire­Fox crash­ing. Using ver­sion 3.0.10 of Fire­Fox, my com­puter kept report­ing a crit­i­cal error and Fire­Fox wouldn’t even start! I had to resort to Inter­net Explorer to get every­thing fixed.
